Playing lotto is a mugs game
... but its fun trying to beat the odds if you can afford to throw money away
This blog is just to store my notes on my efforts to reduce the odds in winning one of the Australian Lotto games
This mainly focuses on the Saturday and Wednesday games as OZLotto and Powerball odds are awful!
To-date my biggest single win has been $2,100 (I've been too scared to add up how much I've wasted over the years!!) but the process I've been refining over those many years has seen me win many smaller prizes along the way.
My theory is simply to reduce the selection pool of numbers with which I can still reliably pick enough numbers which if wheeled right, might one-day net me a 1st or 2nd Div win.
(Dreams are free even if playing lotto isn't ! )
To his end I seem to be able to fairly reliably select 3 of each week's 8 drawn numbers and much of the time it's 4 of the 8 with frequent instances of 5 & 6 of the 8
The key point being .... this is using a MAXIMUM of 22 of the 45 numbers and often as few as 14 of the 45.
For example:
This last weekend's Sat draw numbers were

Using only 14 numbers I managed to get 3 of the 8
Using 21 numbers I got 4 of the 8
(No wins there obviously!)
I'm not going to bother putting historical data up, but this weekend was typical, so I might start to post some of my future results up here, in case anyone else is interested.
Caveat to all gamblers
(aka fellow lotto players)
You still have to wheel these numbers and even at 14 numbers, reduced by past winning sets, bell-curve summing probability and consecutive groupings, the full-set wheel was still 929 games
... naturally I do NOT have the money to play all those games so the chances of picking the right sets from amongst those 929 are still pretty shabby!!
